WYLD FiLE, you make my mind smile!

Saw Amir’s post of WYLD FiLE’s official video for Young MC’s “Fastest Rhyme” made into “Slowest Rhyme” by Bobby Birdman, a B-side to Diplo’s “Bust a Move” remix (Delicious Vinyl, 2008). The video was created as part of Delicious Vinyl’s 25 year celebration and has totally rocked my world!

I needed to know who WYLD FiLE was and what they were all about.

They’re a Multi Media team out of the States specializing in the production of music videos for interweb, DVD-ROMs and TV. The team looks to be comprised of multi-disciplinary artist Paper Rad, E*Rock, & Cory Arcangel.

For the most part I tend to be drawn to more contemporary styles, but my recent live visual endeavors have brought me to brighter more colourful fields. This teams 80s meets 8bit, “Faxel” style along with their use of Flash and their loosely based value system “Dogman 99″ has inspired me greatly!
* “Faxel” was a term coined to desribe Wyld File’s vector based pixel style

DOGMAN 99 =
• no Wacom tablet
• no scannning
• pure RGB colours only
• only fake tweening
• as many alpha tricks as possible
• hyperlinks

Combining this inspiration with my love for Monty Python animations and the crazyness that Modul8 puts at my finget tips has got my mind running. You’ll have to come to the upcoming Coup Digital RedBull gig  at Local to see what has come of this creative candy.
